PASSAGE had its world premiere at IDFA 2016 in Amsterdam
In 'PASSAGE' the audience is immersed and taken on a trip on a barge,
a Spits riverboat, along the so-called ‘North-South’: a network
of special shipping lanes from the Netherlands, through Belgium
to the south of France. From the North Sea to the Mediterranean
over land along a web of canals and rivers.
Departing from Amsterdam, in the lowlands of Europe the Spits climbs up
through the Belgian hills of the Ardennes, the mountains of the French Vosges,
then down the Rhône delta to the sea.
Watching it on 3 separate screens makes for a near hypnotic experience,
an almost meditative state of mindfulness.
